Kinara was born from the moment the Downtown Streets Team closed its doors in October 2025 and Victor Mavedzenge (Former Program Manager at Downtown Streets Team.) refused to let that flame die. With the support of First Presbyterian Church – Hayward, and the continuation of a funding stream (Fiscal Year 2025 ending in June 2026) from the County of Alameda, Victor managed to keep the work of serving the less fortunate going.

Our mission is simple and serious:
To support people rise again by putting them in positions of real responsibility, guiding them through housing navigation, job training, peer-to-peer support, and meaningful community service—every step anchored in steady, no-nonsense case management.
